5 Tips for Perfect Skin in the Summer ๐ŸŒž : SPF ( Sun Protection Factor ) ☼

Good Morning, Afternoon, or Evening  wherever you are in this beautiful world!

UV Rays Fact: Once kids turn 18, they would have soaked up at least two-thirds of the Total amount of UV Rays in their lifetime! The sun may make you feel like you are in a Hollywood movie, but it can also damage your skin. That is why I have 5 protective ways to make you look like you are rocking that Grease Movie sun look!

1.) Tans are ( not ) S.A.F.E - Sun Accommodating For Everyone

I usually see people on the beach trying to get a tan so they can glow! Everyone thinks it can make you look prettier, but really seeing wrinkles and spots on you doesn't make you look prettier, it makes you look like you have no idea what a bath is!

Doctors say that there is no such thing as a S.A.F.E ( Sun Accommodating For Everyone ) Tan! All types of skin, are always going to get damaged by the sun without enough protection. Putting your unprotected skin out there in the sun can make you have a blistering hot burn and can lead to skin cancer!

We want to prevent anything that can make you have skin cancer, right? So here are three ways to protect your skin:

Slip on clothing that covers your skin from the sun's rays. American Girl

Slap on a hat with a broad brim that shades your face, ears, and neck. American Girl

2.) Sunscreen Basics

Knowing sunscreen basics is very important if you are an outdoors person. Sunscreen Products with an SPF of 30 will block 97% of UVB rays, they are the ones that cause sunburn the most. It is definitely important to understand and know that SPF ratings do not evaluate protection against UVA rays.

Those two types can both cause Ultra Violet radiation, and can damage your beautiful skin, so I suggest using sunscreen labeled broad spectrum so you will be protected from both types of Ultra Violet. Note that some sunscreens act as physical filters and others like chemical filters.

Make sure the type of sunscreen you decide to use you kept in mind these two things - Preference and Skin Sensitivity. Always use enough, and be sure to rub it in that you barely see any of the sunscreen on your skin. Sunscreen is for everyone! We all need to be sun-ready!

Ps: Sunscreen does not only apply to going to beaches. It also applies to going out anywhere, especially in summer!

3.) Your Watch Is Your Best-friend When It Comes to the Sun

Knowing what time the sun is the strongest, is really helpful if you don't want a sunburn. So this part of this blog can really help you:

The sun is the strongest between 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., some people think that on cloudy days you can not get the same amount of UV exposure as you will get on a clear day but that is not true. You still have to wear your sunscreen even when it is super cloudy!

Experts agree to be more safe with your skin, you should limit your time of being out in the sun during those hours. If you can't stay inside for 1 more minute, then take extra time putting on sunscreen. Any time of the day, apply your sunscreen 20 mins before you go out in the sun. Apply every two hours, hourly while swimming, exercising, or even sweating! Always make sure to apply that sunscreen!

4.) Location + Location = LOCATION!!!!

UVA
 rays
do not only puncture through the clouds, they also make their way through the untreated glass. Even when you are in a car or a greenhouse or any enclosed sunny are, still, apply sunscreen.

It is better to match your sun protection to where you are. For example, water and beaches ( especially sandy beaches ) reflect UV rays, which increases your exposure to the sun. The UV levels will get higher at higher altitudes.
If you spend your own personal time in shady areas will keep you out of direct sunlight, but it doesn't mean you are fully protected from UV exposure. The places you decide to put on sunscreen may not seem important but is very important for your health more than you know.
There are so many places people forget to coat ( including me ;) ), so I am going to list down below where you should coat in two different categories:

Where People Remeber To Coat:

  • Arms
  • Legs

Where People Forget To Coat:
  • Ears
  • Nose
  • Lips
  • Part in Your Hair
  • Back of Your Neck
  • Under Your Top/Bathing Suit Straps
  • Tops of Your Feet
I hope from reading this section you now understand how location matters when applying sunscreen๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

5.) More Than Sunscreen

If you keep your skin healthy and smooth during summer time with all the sun, your body will now be able toregulate your body temperature, peripheral circulation, and fluid balance American Girl.

During summer time you should make sure to always stay hydrated and apply moisturizer! The right gear is always important to wear. For example, to protect your eyes with a pair of sunglasses can always do the trick!

Use a headband make sure you are keeping the sun off your neck and hairline. Moisture-wicking clothes can help you a lot to keep your skin protected from Ultra Violet.
