  - Know how sensitive your skin is

Exfoliation:

Washing your face is amazingly helpful to help you have healthy skin. But you should not overdo, for if you do, your skin can dry out and you can have a breakout. You do not have to exfoliate more than once a week, just regularly. Exfoliating too much can irritate your skin.

You should keep your hands off your face, because your hands are always touching, well EVERYTHING! They are also super oily, and when objects that are super oily touch your face, you will be now known as Pepperoni Face. I am pretty sure no Beller wants to be called that for the rest of their lyfe, so just take that tip.

Another thing is the only time you should use your hands on your gorgeous face, is when they are clean and you are washing your face!

Using warm water, not hot water, carefully rinse off any soap off your face. According to Brit Co, "Exposing the skin to different extremes can actually cause irritation, excess dryness and blood vessel ruptures. ". So if we do not want our skin to rupture, just stick with Lukewarm water not hot ☺

Acne:

There are so many tips on dealing with Acne, but let us talk about a common mistake most girls/boys make - Popping! Whatever you do, DON'T POP PIMPLES! Yes, you may think the red spot the size of Texas, will look better flat but that is not true. The area you popped your pimple will get infected and irritated and might leave either one of the following: 1.) a Scab 2.) a Permanent Scar

So no more popping those bumps on your face, they will naturally go away and you will not even notice.

Change your pillow case! That may sound weird a tad bit, but it is very true. You sleep on your pillow for more than 8 hours each day, there is enough oil on there for 10 oil bottles! I suggest changing it every 3 days so you will not have to go through ZITS again.

This part may sound out of place, but trust me it is not. Pores. Yes, pores. Pores do fit under this category. I think it is important to know what your pores do and do not do.

Pores release sweat to make your body cool, however, when you enter the stage of puberty your hormones will tell your beautiful skin to produce more oils. Now, these oils are different from most oils, these type can clog your pores. The worst part is the bacteria living on your skin can get trapped inside your oily pores. Yuck! All of sudden the Pimples Apocalypse happens all over your skin. Because your pores are, well, everywhere those pimples can pop-up about anywhere! Mostly on your face, scalp, upper back, chest, and neck!

Most girls try using products ( like cleansers, alcohol-based wipes, and soap ) to prevent pimples from coming to their body. Unfortunately, that is not true. According to American Girl, When you dry your skin, the oil glands beneath the surface sometimes get even more active, and they make more oils.

I suggest washing your skin with cleansers ( that are pat dry )/ gentle soaps and apply some moisturizer to limit/slow-down the oil forming in your pores. Avoid products that have these: 1.) Ethyl Alcohol 2.) Ethanol 3.) Isopropyl Alcohol

I gathered up some different ways to help make your life easier when it comes to acne:

  • Washing your face every morning and night ( also moisturize ). It will do good for your skin :)
  • Use a gentle cleanser/soap to remove dirt. Make sure it has no dyes/perfume!
  • If you scrub too hard while having your bath, you might irritate your skin. Just light scrubbing will do the trick!
  • Try water-based products, instead of oily facial products.
  • With the advice of a doctor, some girls use unique cleansers, cream/medicines so they can make it easier to control their acne. Listed down below are different treatments that are common
                - Antibiotic: kills the bacteria growing in clogged pores American Girl
                - Retinoid: works as an antibiotic + also helps to unclog pores American Girl
                - Benzoyl Peroxide: prevents pore clogging American Girl

Lips:

When your lips are chapped it usually means it is screaming I need waterrrrrr! A swoosh of lip balm will make sure your lips are less chappy and more happy! It is best to look for one with sunscreen in it if you are going outside.

This section was the shortest because lips are kind of one of the things in lyfe that is so easy!

Here are some of the lip brands I use:

Makeup:

Concealer is a handy thing to have when you are outside at a formal dinner and co. But at home, while reading a book, is it necessary? You don't want for everyone to think that your face is the makeup layers, not the beautiful face behind those layers of foundation, powder on your face?

Makeup can also cover up your face, and most girls are allergic to most types of makeup. So they start getting an allergic reaction to it. I suggest using cream and soap to help you hide, prevent, and help reduce acne.

Bacteria:

Nowadays people are always on their phones, right? What people don't know is that bacteria gets on the phone since you take the device everywhere! Touch the screen with live microscopic bacteria on it now transferred onto your hands, then you touch your face! Yuck!

Reason #always never to touch your face!

Try using wipes to sanitize your phone every 2 days. Make sure to get one for your phone case and one for your phone. This is because we don't want to use the same wipe for you phone case on your phone, which is basically using a feather duster. You may be removing it from the current position, but you are dusting it onto another part of the area!

Skin Type:

Knowing your skin type is one very important thing to know in lyfe. If by mistake you put cream that is made out of ( I know this is unusual ) floss, and you are allergic to floss, you will have a big issue on your hands. Ps: floss every day/night

Some creams/soap may make your skin react in a way that leaves you with tiny bumps on your body. Stop using that soap/cream right now!

The skin on your face is more sensitive than any other body parts. If someone says you are being picky about which makeup to use tell them thank you, I do love taking care of my skin and smile and walk away.

Search for soaps that are unscented and lotions with labels of hypoallergenic. Hypoallergenic simply means that it is free of ingredients that may harm your skin. If your skin is prone to pimples then make sure you choose facial products that are non-comedogenic ( oil-free ). Is your skin dry? Make sure to dab moisturizer or lotion only on the areas needed the most not for fun.

Love Yourself:

This was not on the list, but every person that slays the world should know they rule. If you have pimples and it is basically something that runs in your family do not be ashamed of it. Love Yourself!

Hope I gave you some skin-saving tips on Outside Beauty, Inside Beauty, & Makeup!
